Singapore has held onto its second place in the Networked Readiness Index, sitting just below Finland which has yet again topped the rankings.
Singapore's score of 5.96 out of a possible 7 was just .02 below Finland in the index compiled by the World Economic Forum as part of its Global Information Technology Report. The Index is intended to "evaluate the impact of information and communication technologies (ICTs) at a global level, and to benchmark the ICT readiness and the usage of their economies."
The UAE rose five places from 30 to 25th place (4.83), moving ahead of Malta which slipped from 26th to 28th with a score of 4.90.
The index was yet again dominated by the Nordic, Asian Tiger and North American economies.
